Children’s Ministry at First Church is where parents and ministry partners are equipped to bless children by engaging their hearts through fun, God-centered encounters, so they become devoted followers of Jesus and share the good news!

Our Message Simplified: Jesus Is Lord And He Loves You.

Our mission is to develop a lifelong followers of Jesus. We have the opportunity to engage with the kids and youth in our community every week through our children’s ministries, BLAST and Kids First.
Our approach is to teach stories within the context of the overarching biblical narrative, so that kids and youth can learn individual stories, where those stories fit in the larger context of the Bible, and where they as people fit into God’s story. Our teaching will cover the Old Testament, life of Jesus, and the early church.

Each week of our teaching is framed around four key elements:

  • God Story: a portion of the biblical narrative, looking at key Biblical characters
  • Life Story: a real life example of kingdom living that brings the God Story to life
  • My Story: application activities
  • Our Story: resources for families to apply at home

Sunday Morning Sunday School

Kids First Baby & Toddler

These programs provide quality, loving child care for our youngest First Church family and friends.
Kids First Baby & Toddler help make your child’s first impression of God’s love last a lifetime. Through age-appropriate play and worship times on Sundays, we have all the perfect ingredients to help them grow in Jesus.  We sing songs, share Bible stories, and have lots of time for interaction and play. You’ll see your little ones growing in God’s love.

Childcare

Childcare is provided for children 4 weeks – age 2 on Sunday mornings. Children age 3 and above are welcome to Sunday School groups appropriate for their ages. On Wednesday evenings, child care is provided for children through age 5.

First United Methodist Preschool

We know that building a strong home/preschool connection is essential when building a good environment for young children. While the children are our first priority, the staff and I also want to have open communication with you. Families are the foremost experts on their own children, and it is our desire to make the connection between home and preschool a two-way street.
