Our new seminar series, Navigating the Now, is rolling out this fall. This series has three main purposes: 1) to learn about a topic that affects people in certain stages of life, 2) to learn how to bring our faith into this topic in our daily lives, and 3) to connect with others in these similar stages of life.
Why is connecting important? After all, it is a part of our mission statement. We at First Church believe that living out faith is meant to be done in a community. In an article by Lovett H. Weems Jr. on the Lewis Center for Church Leadership about why people stay at church, he says “the quality of the relationships people have seems to be the critical factor for people wanting to stay where they are”. We feel that finding “your people” at church can highly enhance your church experience and cause deeper growth.
On Sunday, September 24th, we will have our first Navigating the Now session. We will be enjoying lunch and discussion together as well as welcoming speakers to present the topic of raising kids with screens and social media. Please click here to sign up. We hope to see you there for this time of learning and connecting!
