First Church Quilters Looking For New Friends

by First Church
The First Church Quilters extend a warm welcome to anyone interested in the timeless art of quilting. With a strong commitment to outreach, this group focuses on crafting and donating baby quilts to Sherman Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or a complete novice, all skill levels are encouraged to participate, and the group is more than willing to provide guidance and instruction to those new to the craft. Moreover, fabric is readily available at no cost, making it accessible to everyone.
Members can bring their own sewing machines and supplies, but the group is also willing to provide these items. The First Church Quilters meet on the first and third Fridays of every month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The group gratefully accepts donations of 100% cotton fabric, sewing notions, quilting patterns, and books. If you’re eager to join this heartwarming initiative or contribute in any way, you can reach out to the group through the church office at 815-459-0785, ext. 110 or via the form below. It’s a wonderful blend of creativity and community service, making a significant impact in the lives of newborns and their families.
