Prince of Peace

Prince of Peace

Does it seem that the closer we get to the actual Christmas holiday, the less peaceful it seems?

  • More people on the roads, stress driving…
  • Getting things checked off the list, only to add more
  • Perhaps financial worries are heightened…

It all might create some dissonance for us then as we listen to the proclamations of Christmas.

Time and again, the Scriptures proclaim the coming of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. When Jesus declared Peace in the middle of his ministry, he meant “shalom”. Shalom is not just the absence of but is the fullness of life in the way it is meant to be. Shalom is the restoration of the healthy order of the creation.
